Governor Tamaki requests the Cabinet to solve the base problem, “reassured” by the choice of a legislator from Okinawa as a Cabinet Minister (5oc21)

Governor Denny Tamaki announced his comment on the inauguration of the new Kishida Cabinet, “Under the Prime Minister’s strong leadership, I expect to work together with him to solve various issues.” 


Kosaburo Nishime, a Diet member from Okinawa, was selected as the new Cabinet Minister in Charge of Okinawa and the Northern Territories. The governor commented, “The selection of a Diet member from Okinawa as a cabinet minister gave me a feeling of great reassurance.” Moreover, he expects consideration of the development of a promotion strategy for Okinawa.


He also made a request to Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno, who is currently the minister in charge of lessening the burden of bases on Okinawa, “Along with the promotion of Okinawa, I would like you to do your utmost to reduce the burden of the bases, but foremost to solve the problem of the new base construction at Henoko in Nago.”

 

Governor Tamaki stated, “I congratulate Fumio Kishida from my heart on his inauguration as the 100th Prime Minister along with his new Cabinet.” Then, to retiring former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, he added, “I’d like to express my gratitude to you for your efforts on Okinawa promotion, reduction of the base burden, and measures to combat Covid-19.”

Splendor of Okinawa: Temple Tree, Mihama Beach, 1de25 CEO Takeshi Kato of Japan Entertainment (JE), which manages JUNGLIA Okinawa, visited Governor Denny Tamaki at the Prefectural Office on 28 November.  　 The CEO reported on the 4 months since the attraction’s opening. He repeatedly brought up dealing with operational improvements and such based on the voices of visitors to the park.  　 The CEO specifically mentioned the evening concerts in the park’s garden and, starting from December, the free entry of one child with each adult, targeting the prefecture’s people.
