After 2 die in the crash of a plane used for emergencies in Okinawa, Governor Tamaki points out the importance that outer island medical care bears lamenting, “My heart is pained by this terrible tragedy!” (14mr22)

A small plane crashed at Iejima Airport in Okinawa Prefecture. It was owned by Mesh Support, an NPO corporation which operates air ambulance services.


On news of the accident which killed 2, Governor Denny Tamaki, speaking to the press corps on the morning of 14 March, stated, “My heart is pained at what has resulted in a terrible tragedy. I want to offer my condolences for the two whose deaths were caused by the crash.”


On the effects of the crash on northern regional health services, the  governor continued, “Mesh Support carries the burden of fragility of health care in the outer islands and northern region. The role it plays is crucially important. From the moment I received the details of the report, I wanted to consider what assistance would be possible in cooperation with the northern district municipalities.”

Governor Denny receives the report on JUNGLIA at the 4 month mark after its opening. (7de25)

Splendor of Okinawa: Temple Tree, Mihama Beach, 1de25 CEO Takeshi Kato of Japan Entertainment (JE), which manages JUNGLIA Okinawa, visited Governor Denny Tamaki at the Prefectural Office on 28 November.  　 The CEO reported on the 4 months since the attraction’s opening. He repeatedly brought up dealing with operational improvements and such based on the voices of visitors to the park.  　 The CEO specifically mentioned the evening concerts in the park’s garden and, starting from December, the free entry of one child with each adult, targeting the prefecture’s people. CEO Kato stated, “We’d like to be contributing to Okinawa’s tourism as well.” Governor Tamaki, alluding to his speech the same day, entitled “Declaration on Sustainable Tourism”, stated, “For the people, employees, and tourists of our prefecture, this is an important win-win format.
