After his support group files amended Political Fund Collection Report for political party contributions totaling 250 thousand yen, Governor Denny Tamaki quips, “None that I’ve heard of”, when asked if there were additional errors. (28fe24)

Reporting errors have been reported in the 2022 Political Fund Collection Report of Governor Denny Tamaki’s support group. The governor’s support group submitted a corrected report to the Okinawa Prefectural Election Supervision Commission on 26 February.

On the same day Governor Tamaki was queried at the Prefectural Office by the press squad on whether, in addition to those admitted, there were other mistakes. The governor responded, “None that I’ve heard of.”

As to the amended collection report, between August and September of 2022, the prefectural branch of the Social Democratic Party clearly noted its contribution to the support group as 50 thousand yen 4 times, 30 thousand once, and 10 thousand twice, for a total of 250 thousand yen.

If a single entity makes a contribution of 50,000 yen or more, that entity’s name must be recorded in the collection report. However, before amendment, the contributions in question had been recorded unnamed under ‘other’

The documents have been published on the Prefectural election Commission’s homepage.

Denny in the News: news about Governor Denny Tamaki.

Denny Tamaki is the governor of Okinawa Prefecture in Japan. Although Okinawa is important as an international tourist destination and a key element in strategic US Military Forces, its governor receives very little coverage in the Japanese press and almost none in the English language media.

This blog hopes to  translate one news article a day on the governor.  It is unsponsored and unauthorized. The translator simply hopes to improve his skills and perhaps give the governor an English speaking audience.

Any suggestion on improving my translation will be gratefully accepted. However, please leave political comments for another forum.

Where they occur, words and phrases in Ryukyuan (the Okinawan language) are rendered in italics and translated in parentheses. Names  whose readings are uncertain are rendered as Name (=Kanji?) as in Nagayuki (=長行?). Any corrections in such instances would be gratefully appreciated.
